Think of yourself as a giant magnet. Whatever you are feeling — whether it’s love, fear, anger, happiness, anger, joy, gratitude, and resistance — you are, in essence, creating a magnetic force that attracts and draws to you events, conditions and circumstances which are in direct correlation to what you are feeling. Fear of something creates a magnetic force that will attract more of what you fear. Expressing gratitude for something projects a magnetic force that attracts more of what you’re grateful for.

At any time that you are not expressing gratitude for an outcome, you are basically resisting the outcome — thus your focus is on not wanting that outcome. That means your thoughts and emotions are fixated on not wanting the outcome. That focus of not wanting only serves to draw to you more of what you’re not wanting — more of what you’re resisting.

The power of you

Since your current outcomes are based on what you have thought and felt at some point in the past, and those outcomes are now being experienced in your life, guess who created them? You did! And although that may not make you feel any better about them just yet, consider this: since it is you who is responsible for attracting and creating ‘undesirable outcomes’, it is also you who can change the thoughts and emotions responsible for creating those outcomes. You can create results you desire.

The miracle of creation

It’s important to recognize and express gratitude for the fact that everything in your life is a miracle that you have created. Creation, regardless of how you might perceive it, is always a miracle. If you can learn to express gratitude for every miracle in your life, you will begin to see the life-changing power that gratitude holds in creating much more to be grateful for.

A state of gratitude

When you have developed a crystal-clear understanding that all things work for the greater good no matter how seemingly bad things may appear, it becomes much easier to stay in a state of gratitude.

When you are able to fully develop that awareness (and with a little practice, you will), not only is it an extremely freeing experience, but you are setting yourself up for a much greater flow of abundance and happiness coming into every area of your life. When the Universe sees that you are grateful for what you have, it will send you more.

This is exactly how Universal Laws operate. The universe doesn’t perceive anything as good or bad, it only sends outcomes to you based on your energy vibration, and your attitude concerning any given thing is exactly what determines that vibrational resonance. God, Universal Consciousness or whatever you perceive it to be, loves each person unconditionally exactly the same and only delivers to each precisely what we are asking for, based on our individually chosen vibrational output. If your output is anger, fear, doubt or worry, the universe perceives that you are asking for outcomes based on that output, and that is exactly what you’ll receive.

You can’t possibly control everything that is going on around you in the world but you can most certainly control yourself and how you perceive what’s going on.

The gratitude game

I invite you to play a game – let’s call it the ‘gratitude game’. The aim is to find creative and inexpensive ways to thank those people who often get overlooked. For example, you might acknowledge or appreciate those people that provide you with a service each day: the garage attendant, local grocery man, your mum or dad for helping you out, or a special friend who always supports you. Get creative this week with your acknowledgements and notice the feeling you receive when you appreciate someone in your life who has helped you.

An attitude of gratitude

Developing an attitude of gratitude is one of the most important things that you can do for attracting and manifesting the things that you desire into your life. In fact, if you have a desire to consistently attract desired outcomes, it’s essential that you cultivate this attitude. The following method is equally as effective and actually accomplishes the same end result as that contained in the first task.

Make a commitment to do the following for the next thirty days:?Take out a piece of paper and each night make a handwritten list of the things you can think of that you are grateful for. Think deeply about each area of your life and begin to write in detail the good things that come to your mind as you write. Do it everyday.

Practicing gratitude

Gratitude plays an extremely important role in beginning to consciously and intentionally create desired outcomes in your life. It’s my hope that you’ll think about this and choose gratitude as an attitude for yourself. It will make all the difference.

Then make a list of all the people you would like to thank and send a note or pick up the phone to.

The people I would like to thank are:

2.

3.

4.
